As the dust settled on December 5th 2015, one thing was certain; whoever wins the AHS Athletics Championship 2016 MUST earn it!
The 2015 AHS Cross Country run saw each house make sound claims on their bid for the 2016 championship.
In a record breaking run, Form 1 student Shona Edwards of Walton House (Green), firmly stamped Walton’s claim to fame securing the top position for last season’s champions.
Not to be outdone, the 2014 Champions Garraway House, who lost their title in the final 2 races last year, claimed 3 positions in the top 10 and established an early lead in the points standing.
Ever a strong contender, Bertrand House (Red) secured 4 out of the top 10 positions amassing a total of 155 points, only 2 points behind rival Walton House in 2nd place.
The historically dominant Pigott House (Yellow) brought up the rear this year, closing out cross country day in 4th position on 133 points.
All roads now lead to the Tanteen Playing Field on Jan 8th for the 2016 Track Heats en route to the National Stadium on Feb 11 for what is shaping up to be an absolutely heated contest!
